OVERVIEW

My high school holds a class-wide drama contest every year. My role that year was the prop team leader. Aside from assigning tasks to my classmates, I made a few props myself.

Goal

Our drama is set in London, thus we thought it would be cool if we could show that by having someone act as the Big Ben and have him dance with the rest of us at the end of the performance.

Design Process

The images below are a couple of my design sketches for the Big Ben. I deliberately calculated many parameters during design process.

The Building Process

Building the Big Ben, to be honest, was not necessarily an easy task because there were many parts to make. Thanks to the maths I have done beforehand, I could ask my classmates to cut some for me. I am glad all the parts fitted well while assembling the Ben.

Final Product

In this photo, you can clearly see my classmate wearing the Big Ben at the center of the spotlight. It was a magical moment.
